To the Top of the World

To the Top of the World

by Jim Brandenburg
Walker and Company, 1993

Wildlife photographer Brandenburg spent a summer following a pack of Arctic wolves on remote Ellesmere Island. Aimed at older elementary-age readers, this first-person chapter book chronicles his experiences and showcases the award-winning photos he took. Most Click-age youngsters will need considerable help with the lengthy text, even as a read-aloud, but for kids intrigued by the story of Scruffy, the lovably goofy wolf babysitter featured in this month’s Click, the book offers an engrossing, in-depth view of Scruffy’s packmates, pack social structure, and wolf behavior.
