This interesting and inventive picture book works well as both a brief history of racing cars and an alphabet book. Alliteration makes it fun to read aloud, and the well-researched watercolors of racecars from the early 1900s onward are captivating. The endpapers include drawings of all the racecars featured in the book, and there’s also supplementary information about racing for the fact hungry.
