Saving Energy: Earth’s Resources

Saving Energy: Earth’s Resources

by Buffy Silverman
Heinemann Library, 2008

This book takes a hands-on approach to teaching readers about energy conservation, with 13 activities that build on the basic ideas and terms defined in the text. Some of the concepts explored include how global warming works, how insulation traps heat, and how wind or water power can be used to generate electricity. The book is intended for older elementary-school readers, but interested younger children should be able to perform and understand most of the activities--with adult supervision and assistance, of course.
