Move!

by Steve Jenkins and Robin Page
Houghton Mifflin Company, 2006
Each spread in this gorgeous picture book features one action verb and two animals demonstrating that movement. The second animal then “moves” to the next spread, where a new action is introduced. The minimal text and open layout allow readers to focus on the dynamic, amazingly detailed cut-paper illustrations, but most children will probably be too busy trying to imitate the movements themselves. Two pages at the back of the book provide additional information about the animals featured.
