Maxwell’s parents tell him he’s too small to climb the hill where the big kids play, but the adventurous boy is determined to tackle the mighty mountain. He prepares diligently, training hard, collecting supplies, and persuading his parents that he’s ready. Then, with his sturdy toy soldier at his side, he sets off on his quest. When faced with a challenge, he keeps his cool and perseveres until at last he reaches the top of the mountain. Expressive watercolor illustrations enhance this delightful picture book, which playfully imparts an inspiring message as it tells a thoroughly satisfying story.
