A girl in Texas frees a young sandhill crane from a plastic six-pack holder and names him Luck. The lucky bird then joins his parents on the long journey north to their nesting ground. Along the way, they memorize landmarks, rest in cornfields with thousands of other cranes, and are admired by cheering birdwatchers.
