I Spy Colors in Art

Click Magazine - I Spy Colors in Art

by Lucy Micklethwait
Greenwillow Books, 2007

In a foreword, the author describes encouraging her own children to look closer at art by sorting paintings on postcards. This book, one in a series, challenges children to find different-colored shapes and pictures in a varied collection of artwork spanning five centuries. The author has a knack for picking paintings that are captivating and detailed but also simple enough for very young children to absorb, and kids of all ages will enjoy examining each work to find their own “I spy.”
