Food for Thought

Food for Thought

by Saxton Freymann and Joost Elffers
Arthur A. Levine Books, 2005

I know some letters, and I can count pretty high, so I thought I’d be too big for this book. But I was wrong. It looks really simple. You know—one bird, two chicks, three giraffes. But the authors made everything in the photographs from real fruits and vegetables, so the bird is really an artichoke, and the giraffes are really bananas. Martin and I love trying to figure out what everything’s made of (Click and Liz help). The eggplant penguins are my favorites. I never knew fruits and vegetables could be so much fun!
